ACCESSIBILITY
The mansion is not suitable for wheelchair users as it is built on a rather steep hillside and on three levels. The swimming pool and living areas are all different levels. Access to the mansion is via a long, driveway while foot-access to all levels is via external spacious staircases.

Neighbourhood information

Avlaki beach is 3 minutes walking from the villa where you can find a sailing school or to hire a boat discover tiny secret coves reached only from the sea and bays with the best and clearest swimming waters you will find. Sail as far as Agios Spiridonas in the north and Agios Stefanos, Kerasia, Kouloura, Kalami, Agni, Kaminaki in the south. Villa Iliana is 5 minutes drive to Kassiopi where you can find shops, restaurants, bars, tavernas and supermarkets. About 1km from the Villa there is a supermarket known for delivering shoppings around the villas. After the centre of Kassiopi you can drive to the harbour and the road will lead you to other beaches and to the Kassiopi castle. At the harbour you will find traditional tavernas, bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the view with coffees, drinks and meals.

All apartments are within a stone’s throw of the unique plateia with its traditional taverna. It is situated in the centre of Corfu, just 15 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from the golden beaches of Corfu’s west coast.

Kidonakia apartment is a short drive or walk to Aqualand Water Park and within easy reach of Corfu Golf Club. The village of Agios Ioannis has slumbered for centuries under the olive and orange groves. It is now a centre for quiet family holidays. Some thirty years ago it was one of the first places on the island to be ‘discovered’ by visiting back-packers who set up the tents amid the olive groves in what is still known as ‘The Cactus Hilton’. Some of those earliest visitors still return bringing their children or even their grandchildren, certain of the warm welcome that the residents extend to every tourist who comes to enjoy our pleasant climate and beautiful environment. Its central location, just 15 minutes from the airport and in the very centre of the island, means that nothing is far away. For instance it is five minutes to Aqualand Water Park, a large water park with pools, slides and rides for all ages; 10 minutes to Corfu Golf Club (where we can obtain reductions on normal prices); the same distance to the fabulous sandy beaches on Corfu’s west coast; and just 15 minutes to Corfu Town, the airport and ferry port.

Since 2009, each August Agios Ioannis has been home to the Agiotfest, a Rock, Soul and Folk festival held in the magical setting of an olive grove. Why not visit while it’s on and round off a day on the beach or pool-side with a truly unforgettable night of great sounds and dancing? Like the audience, made up of all ages, you will be entranced.

There are other activities on offer such as walking and go-karting, while local amenities include traditional tavernas and restaurants, a mini-market, bakery, pharmacy, filling station, hairdresser’s, and ouzo dispensary.

The focal point of village life, the plateia (square) with its taverna at which parents sit chatting, nibbling and sipping while watching their children playing in a multilingual babble, is only 50 metres from Lydia. Agios Ioannis is especially well situated for those wishing to walk or cycle during the cooler months of the year. Corfu is a different world when summer visitors have departed. Empty beaches, some of Europe’s most beautiful scenery and carefully mapped and described walks, guided or unguided, will captivate you. March to May is a particularly good time to see how gorgeous Corfu is with its profusion of wild flowers and the climate in autumn and spring can be very agreeable for walkers. Getting here

Agios Ioannis is situated 8 kilometres from the airport and 10 kilometres from the centre of Corfu Town.

From the end of March until the beginning of November there are daily direct flights from the UK and during the summer there are scheduled and charter flights from all over Europe. At other times of the year both Olympic and Aegean fly daily from Athens. Another option is to travel by ferry from Italy with services from Venice, Ancona, Bari and Brindisi.

The house is comfortably furnished with two bedrooms, both with private balconies and two shower rooms. You will be able to use a third bedroom with a large double bed at an extra charge (See Bedrooms under Amenities and Prices). The lounge is spacious and airy with a fully fitted kitchen leading off it; here you will find everything you will need for a Corfu self-catering holiday. There is a large furnished verandah at the front of the house for watching village life go by and French doors off the lounge to a private side garden, with sunset views. Within the property is off-road parking for two medium size cars.

Mousehouse is only a short walk from a well stocked mini-market and a few minutes stroll away are some of the best (and little-known) beaches on the island. It is available for bookings throughout the year. Mousehouse Penthouse is just above Mousehouse on the upper floor. It may be rented separately from the main house , or is just as suitable for a group of eight persons occupying both floors of this sweet home.

“Our stay at ‘Mousehouse’ was an absolute delight. After several months of travelling we were looking for somewhere to relax and this was the perfect place. The house was very spacious and well decorated and very clean. It was well supplied with all necessary utensils etc for self catering. The wood burning heater was great to sit in front of during the quite chilly evenings and the central heating had the house lovely and warm. The location on the edge of the village was very peaceful the local shops were only a nice walk away. It was an easy drive to the nearest large supermarket in Lefkimmi. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the many beaches and small villages. Our initial three week booking turned into four weeks and we could easily have stayed longer. Summer or winter, this is a great place to recharge your batteries.“

South East Corfu. Discvover the real Corfu and its hidden beaches

Agios Nikolaos is a sleepy village on the tourist-free south east coast of Corfu. It is tucked in the shelter of a large bay, not many miles from Corfu’s second largest town, Lefkimmi.

A few minutes stroll away from Mousehouse are some of the best (and little-known) beaches on the island. The two tavernas at Notos Beach are places to die for, with their beautiful gardens tumbling down to the crystal sea below. Sunbeds are right next to the calm blue waters and these are fabulous, shallow and safe places for children to play, as you dine al fresco.

About the same distance away in the opposite direction lies the traditional fishing village of Petriti. Fish tavernas and bars, mini-markets, bakery, etc
are all to be found here. While away the time watching the small fleet of fishing boats.

Nearby Lefkimmi is a fascinating ‘real’ Greek town; you will think you have stepped back in time as you wander the the narrow streets. with their tall houses, small squares, churches and traditional cafes. A small river, shelter for fishing boats and caiques, runs through Lefkimmi, and on its banks are lively cafes and restaurants. Lefkimmi is linked to mainland Greece by a small ferry terminal. With a journey time of just one hour, it makes for an easy day out exploring the towns and villages in the mountains opposite Corfu.
